R.K. Vishnoi, CMD, THDCIL informed a significant milestone towards the commissioning of THDCIL’s Maiden 1320 MW Khurja STPP, as the full load i.e. 660MW of Unit#1 at Khurja Super Thermal Power Project (KSTPP) has been successfully achieved on 04.12.2024 , at 05.15 AM. All the six coal mills have been put in operation. All technical parameters are stable. During the trial operation of Unit #1, maximum load of 664 MW has been achieved at mainstream pressure 262.4 kg/cm² and temperature 603 °C. Bhupender Gupta, Director (Technical) was also present during this significant achievement.
Vishnoi congratulated entire Team Khurja for this achievement and added that all ESP fields have been charged. Ash evacuation is quite satisfactory. Unit will be connected to FGD tomorrow and subsequently commercial operation process should start from 7th Dec. With this mega achievement all the thermal systems have been established and proven to go for full load operations. With this KSTPP is ready for other trial operations required for Commercial Operation Declaration (COD). This crucial milestone marks a significant step forward in THDCIL’s effort to expand its presence in power sector and thus making India self-reliant in the field of power generation.
