THDC India Limited (THDCIL), a leading PSU in the power generation sector, celebrated Constitution Day with great zeal across its Corporate Office, Project sites, and Unit offices. The occasion marks the historic presentation of the Constitution by the Drafting Committee, led by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, and its adoption on November 26, 1949.

R.K. Vishnoi, CMD, THDCIL, emphasized the significance of the Indian Constitution, calling it the foundation of the country’s democracy. He stated, “The Indian Constitution is a beacon of our nation’s principles—equality, justice, liberty, and fraternity. It guides us in building a stronger and more inclusive socie

ty. Observing Constitution Day reminds us of our collective responsibility to uphold and propagate these values in every aspect of our lives.”

At the Corporate Office, the Preamble of the Indian Constitution was recited by Shallinder Singh, Director (Personnel) to all Heads of Departments (HoDs) and employees of THDCIL. Bhupender Gupta, Director (Technical) was also present at the reciting ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, Shallinder Singh, Director (Personnel), highlighted the critical role of the Constitution in shaping a just and equitable society. He remarked, “The Constitution is not merely a document; it is the soul of our democracy. It enshrines the principles of equality, social justice, and fraternity that we must strive to implement in all our actions and decisions.”

Bhupender Gupta, Director (Technical), reiterated THDCIL’s commitment to aligning its policies and practices with the values enshrined in the Constitution. He said, “The ideals of the Constitution inspire us to maintain the highest standards of inclusivity, transparency, and fairness. At THDCIL, we aim to integrate these values into every facet of our functioning to contribute me.ngfully to the nation’s development.”

To further commemorate the occasion, THDCIL org.zed various competitions across its schools and offices. At schools run under its CSR initiatives, including Tehri Bandh Pariyojana Inter College, Bhagirathipuram, Tehri, and THDC High School, Rishikesh, the Preamble was recited by students and teachers under the leadership of their School Principals. Quiz and speech/allocution competitions were also held to promote awareness of constitutional values among students. Priya Bisht and Hariom Soni secured the first prize in the quiz competition, while Mansi and Anshika Raikwal were awarded the first prize in the speech/allocution competition.

At Bhagirathi Bhawan, a quiz competition was org.zed for THDCIL employees to encourage awareness of the principles of the Indian Constitution. The event saw enthusiastic participation, and the winners were felicitated during the ceremony.
