The Wagale Estate Police in Thane have busted a prostitution racket and rescued three Russian women and one Indian woman. According to the police, the kingpin of the racket is yet to be tracked and arrested.

The Thane police stated that, based on a tip-off about a “high-profile” racket operating online and targeting customers, they laid a trap. A decoy customer contacted the kingpin, who promised to send female Russian escorts. The three Russian women and one Indian woman arrived at a dhaba in Thane. The kingpin, who ran the racket using a mobile phone, remains at large.

The police revealed that after the deal was finalized at ₹30,000, the escorts were sent to the designated dhaba in Wagle Estate, where the police team conducted the raid.

Pravin Mane, a police inspector at Wagale Estate Police Station, said, “We sent a decoy customer to a dhaba in Thane on Friday night, where three Russian women and one Indian woman arrived. Following this, we rescued them.”

The rescued women were sent to a welfare center in Mumbai. A case has been registered against the kingpin under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act, 1956 at Wagale Estate Police Station.
