Mumbai: The atmosphere in Mumbai has once again been hot over the use of Marathi language and MNS is protesting against the use of Marathi. While there have been incidents of dispute over speaking Marathi, Uddhav Thackeray -led Shiv Sena (Uddhav Group) has now taken a different stand and tried to make Hindi speakers in its favor. Banners have been installed by Uddhav Sena spokesperson Anand Dubey in Kandivali region “Let us all learn Marathi” message. Announcements like “Do not be afraid, come learn Marathi” and “We will teach you Marathi language” have been appealed to start Marathi teaching classes.
However, grammar errors have been found in the Marathi text in this poster. For example, the question mark has been used inappropriately after the sentence “Do not be afraid”. In addition, the correct sentence, “Let us respect Marathi language”, “Let’s respect Marathi language” in place of “respect Marathi language”. The video of an employee, while arguing with a young man talking in Marathi at Airtel Gallery in Kandivali, went viral on social media. After this incident, MNS staged an aggressive stance and protested and also warned Airtel.
Similarly, this statement of a Hindi -speaking security guard worsened the situation that “Marathi oil is a place.” There are reports that after this incident, MNS workers beat up the security guard concerned. At present, MNS is going to various banks and giving memorandum about the use of Marathi language, but in some places, incidents of dispute with migrant employees are also coming to light.
In this backdrop, the Shiv Sena, headed by Uddhav Thackeray, has launched banners in an attempt to challenge the role of MNS in an attempt to launch “Marathi language teaching class” in Kandivali region. These posters have given the message of “Let us all teach Marathi”, but some grammar errors have also been found in them, which has started new discussions.
In the backdrop of the ongoing movement for the use of Marathi language, Industry Minister Uday Samant met MNS President Raj Thackeray at his Shivatirtha residence. In this meeting, issues of injustice against Marathi language and Marathi people were discussed in detail. Samanta clarified that information about the issues raised in this discussion will be given to the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister. He also said that by considering the suggestions made by Raj Thackeray, an effort will be made to make necessary improvements. To maintain the honor of Marathi language, Samant announced a meeting of all the district collectors and Superintendents of Police in the next 8 to 10 days, stating the primary duty of the state government. In this meeting, strategic decisions are likely to be taken regarding the use of Marathi language.
