ISIS terrorists attacked in New Orleans, America. In this attack, which took place a day before the New Year, 15 people were killed and more than 35 people were seriously injured.

 

The terrorist attack in New Orleans on the first day of the New Year shook America. Shamsuddin Jabbar, a 42-year-old Texas resident, was killed when a speeding pickup truck plowed into the crowd. He was a supporter of ISIS. 15 people died and more than 35 were seriously injured in the attack. After the incident the police beat up Jabbar. The FBI seized an ISIS flag and explosives from his car.

Shortly after the attack, a Tesla Cybertruck exploded in front of the Trump Hotel in Las Vegas. President Joe Biden said a possible connection between the two incidents was being investigated. However, he also said that there is no concrete information on this matter yet. Houston’s mosque and questionable connection

Jabbar used to go to Masjid Bilal in Houston. The mosque has instructed its members not to speak to the FBI or the media. Instead, they are asked to contact CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) and the Islamic Society of Greater Houston (ISGH). The mosque management said in its statement that now is the time to unite and condemn such dirty acts. After this incident, Muslims living in America also fear that the situation like after the 9/11 attacks may start again and innocent people may become its victims. Trump supporters have also started giving political color to the New Orleans incident.

Next direction of FBI investigation

The FBI suspects that Jabbar was not responsible for the attack. His other four associates are being searched. The attack in New Orleans is raising questions whether ISIS has attacked America under a new strategy.

Questions on the relationship between ISIS and America

Another worrying aspect is that the US has helped bring the ISIS-linked organization HTS to power in Syria. Now people influenced by the ideology of ISIS are carrying out terrorist attacks on American soil. If ISIS’s infiltration into America becomes stronger, America may have to face serious challenges in the future.
