Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah left from Srinagar for Jammu on Friday. He shared its information on social media platform X. After the Pakistani drone attack failed, Abdullah himself is going to take stock of the ground situation.
In his post, Omar Abdullah wrote, “I am leaving for Jammu to take stock of the situation after Pakistan’s unsuccessful drone attack in Jammu city and other areas last night.”
On Thursday night, Pakistan attempted drone and missile attacks at military stations near Jammu and Western border, but Indian air defense systems successfully thwarted these attacks. The army made it clear that there was no loss of any kind.
During this period, emergency situation was declared in many areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab and Rajasthan. The sound of blackout and siren was heard. People were asked to stay inside the houses. At the same time, the match of the Indian Premier League 2025 being played in Dharamshala for security reasons was also canceled in the middle.
The army has confirmed that the Pakistani attacks on military bases in Jammu, Pathankot and Udhampur have been completely thwarted. Several drones were neutralized near Jammu Airport, and eight missiles were also successfully destroyed by Indian security forces. Due to this attack, there was also temporary power cuts in some areas including Vaishno Devi Temple.
Home Minister Amit Shah has taken stock of the situation. He interacted with Border Security Forces, CISF and Jammu and Kashmir administration and made a detailed assessment of the situation. India has started retaliation and security arrangements have been tightened along the border.
