Vidhi Jani registered a thrilling win over Celine Vekalapuddy of Canada on the second day of the ITF Tennis Tournament being run in collaboration with Gujarat Sports Authority at Ace Tennis Academy. 16-year-old Vidhi made some common mistakes in the first set as Canadian Selin won the first set 6-3, but Vidhi regained her rhythm and form and displayed aggressive serving to win the second set 6-1.
In the decisive tiebreaker, Vidhi cleverly put her opponent under constant pressure on every point and won 10-7. Richa Chogule made a great start to her campaign with a comfortable 6-4, 6-1 win over Lakshmi Gowda.
