The experienced pair of India’s Rohan Bopanna and China’s Zhang Shuai has reached the quarter-finals of the Australian Open. The Indo-Chinese pair got a walkover in the second round match. Bopanna and Shuai were up against Taylor Townsend of America and Hugo Nieves of Monaco, but the fourth seeded pair could not take the field to play in the match.

 

Due to which the pair of India and China got a walkover without even coming on the court and reached the last eight. The pair of Bopanna and Shuai had earlier defeated the pair of France’s Kristina Mladenovic and Croatia’s Ivan Dodik 6-4, 6-4 in their opening match in straight sets. Meanwhile, in the boys’ singles match, India’s Krish Tyagi lost 1-6 after going down 2-6 in straight sets against Swiss player Nikola Josic in his first match. Krishna struggled with her serve and could only score 12 points out of 29 in the 52-minute match.
