Indore: Temples Echo With Chants & Drums As City Soaks In Ram Navami Festivity | FPJ
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The city celebrated the birth of Maryada Purushottam Lord Shri Ram with great enthusiasm and devotion. On the occasion of Ram Navami, Indore transformed into a spiritual hub as thousands came together to celebrate.
At exactly 12am, temples, houses, and institutions across the city resonated with the sound of bells, drums, and conch shells as devotees performed aarti with deep reverence.
Early in the morning, temples began rituals with Ram Lalla’s ceremonial bathing (abhishek) and adorned the deity in new clothes. The sanctums were beautifully decorated with flowers. Temples such as Shri Ram Janki Temple (Gorakund), Panchkuia Ram Mandir, Geeta Bhavan Ram Darbar, Juni Indore Ram Mandir, Khatiapura, and the Bada Ganpati saw large gatherings of devotees.
A special Sai Ram Palki procession was taken out from Bada Ganpati to Chhatri Bagh. Temples hosted Akhand Ramayan readings, ending with the final offering on Sunday morning. Streets were adorned with saffron flags, and the entire city glowed in decorative lights. Multiple processions, rituals, and bhandaras were organised across the city. Children dressed as Ram, Sita, and Hanuman joined the celebrations, while women sang bhajans.
