MP April 08 Weather Update: Severe Heatwave Grips State; Temperature Soar Above 44 degree, Narmadapuram, Ratlam, Ujjain, Bhopal Record Hottest Day Of The Season | PTI

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): Madhya Pradesh is experiencing scorching summer with several cities recording extreme daytime temperature. On Monday, Narmadapuram recorded the maximum temperature of 44.3°C, followed by Ratlam at 44°C

Capital Bhopal saw a sharp surge in temperature as it recorded 41.6°C on Monday. Additionally the minimum night temperature rose up by 2.7°C.

According to the meteorological department the heatwave condition is expected to worsen in Bhopal as the day time temperature is predicted to hit 43°C in the coming hours due to hot wind blowing from Rajasthan and strong solar radiation.

Other regions of the state are also witnessing scorching temperatures with Guna recording 43°C, Sagar at 42.6 °C and Mandla breaching 42.2°C in the day.

Bad condition of districts bordering Rajasthan

According to the meteorological department a trough line and cyclonic circulation is active towards north-eastern Jharkhand. Along with this, another trough line is passing through North Central Maharashtra towards Karnataka. Additionally, there is a possibility of a new Western Disturbance becoming active in the state from April 8.

Districts close to Rajasthan borders are likely to be more affected, Including parts of Ujjain, Indore and the Malwa Nimar division. The weather department issued alert for these areas indicating severe heatwave in the coming weeks.

Ujjain recorded the highest maximum temperature on Monday

Among the 5 major cities, Ujjain recorded the highest maximum temperature on Monday at 42 °C, followed by Gwalior at 41.7°C, Bhopal recorded 41.6 °C, Jabalpur at 40.7°C and Indore recorded 40.6°C Celsius.

Weather for next two days

9th April: The blazing sun along with the hot winds blowing from Rajasthan would intensify the heatwave

10th April: The Temperature in some cities might breach up to 45°C along with hot winds. Residents are advised to stay indoor to avoid any heat related problems
