A hilarious moment occurred on day two of the opening Test between South Africa and Sri Lanka at the Kingsmead in Durban as Temba Bavuma struggled to pull his thumb out of his helmet. The moment occurred when the South African captain was at the non-striker’s end as the video of the same surfaced on social media.
Bavuma has been outstanding in the opening Test, playing a captain’s knock of 70 in the first innings to propel South Africa to a 191, a total that is well-above par after Marco Jansen’s 7-fer blew Sri Lanka away for 42. However, the right-handed batter couldn’t escape from the hilarious moment on day one in Durban.
Below is the video of the same:

Meanwhile, Bavuma finished day two on 24 as South Africa built their lead from 149 to 281 with seven wickets still in the shed. Jansen’s 7/13 consigned Sri Lanka to their lowest Test total of 42. Gerald Coetzee picked up two wickets, while Kagiso Rabada snared one.
With the Proteas’ lead nearing 300, the Island nation could also be on the verge of losing their first Test in Durban, having won two out of three Tests at the venue, dating back to 2000. The series is critical for both sides, keeping in mind the World Test Championship (WTC) final. A 2-0 series win for South Africa will significantly put them on track to play in the final next year.
