Bhind (Madhya Pradesh): A teenage was killed during celebratory firing in a wedding function in Madhya Pradesh’s Bhind, as reported by police on Saturday. Additionally, another youth sustained bullet injury in his hand.
According to information, the incident took place during a ‘Lagun Faldan’ ceremony (an engagement ritual) in the Bharoli police station area. The deceased was identified as Pranshu, son of Satyendra Chauhan, a resident of Adokhar village.
Bullet hit from behind
In the tragic incident, someone fired shots in celebration, and one of the bullets hit Pranshu from behind. He was attending the event with his family.
After he fell unconscious, Pranshu was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Another youth admitted
Another youth, Dilip Baghel, was also seriously injured and has been referred to a hospital in Gwalior for further treatment.

Accused yet to be identified
Police officials, including Bharouli Police Station in-charge Girish Sharma, reached the scene after getting information about the incident. Family members shared that Pranshu had come to attend his aunt’s daughter’s engagement ceremony.
Sanjuv Singh Chauhan, the nephew of Pranshu’s father (who is the village Sarpanch of Adokhar), said that around 1 am, four to five people from the groom’s side fired shots during the celebration. During the preparations from the bride’s side, one bullet hit Pranshu, causing his immediate death.
By the time police arrived, most of the men involved had fled the scene. Station in-charge Girish Sharma informed that the body has been sent for post-mortem, and police are investigating the case.
The shooters have not yet been identified. Police are examining nearby videos and recording eyewitness statements to move the investigation forward.
