Bhopal(Madhya Pradesh): Not only through spa and massage centres but tech-savvy people involved in flesh trade and prostitution rackets are using internet to contact and lure possible customers. There are a number of sites on the internet which are providing contact numbers for arranging call girls under the guise of ‘escort services’.

Despite being aware of the racket being run through the internet, police fail to initiate any action against the culprits in the absence of specific complaints and the exact location of the people involved. A list of sites and pages opens up on searching keywords ‘Bhopal escorts or call girl service’ on the Google.

When clicked on any of the sites, a long list of contact numbers with different names crops up with lucrative offers and discounts. The advertisements claim providing local and even foreign call girls to customers and assure full secrecy and safety.

While some claim to provide service at their own location, there are a few who offers doorstep service but charge additional for the same. Moreover, photographs of girls and young women are displayed in the advertisements for luring the possible clients. The advertisers urge people to send message on their Whatsapp for availing the services.

As a fact check, when message was sent on one such WhatsApp number, the person on the other side asked for location and sent photographs of a few women. However, the person refused to share his exact location and demanded an advance payment for the services.

Possible sextortion!

Police officials said that it is possible that some local persons involved in flesh trade may be using internet to contact and lure possible clients. However, cyber criminals may also be using the internet to lure people on pretext of providing call girl and dupe them of cash.

Moreover, the cyber conmen may also lure the people and dupe cash through ‘sextortion’, police officials added.

Tracing location difficult:

Officer Additional DCP (crime) Shailendra Singh Chauhan said police was aware of such advertisements on the internet. Tracing the location of such contact numbers is difficult as such persons may be present anywhere and may be out of the jurisdiction of local police. However, action will be taken if any complaint is received in this regard, he added.

7 spa centre owners booked

Cases were registered against seven people on Thursday who were running spa centres in the city but failed to share information of their staff with local police. Two cases were registered against Gajendra and Ashok Kumar at Govindpura police station, Kiran Singh and Mohd Akhtar at MP Nagar police station, Govind Shrivas at Ayodhya Nagar police station and against Dushyant Tomar and Lalit Kumar at Misrod police station.
