The Indian women’s cricket team is going to play a tri -series against South Africa and Sri Lanka from 27 April. The Indian Women’s Selection Committee has announced Team India. The team will command Harmanpreet Kaur, while the responsibility of the vice -captain has been entrusted to Smriti Mandhana. The first match between India and Sri Lanka will be played at R Premdasa Stadium in Colombo. The special thing is that 3 new players have got a chance in the Indian team for the tri -series, while 2 star players have not got a place.

Renuka Singh and Shefali Verma have not been included in the Indian team for the tri -series. Both star players could not make their place in the team. Most senior players in the Indian team have been given a chance for this series. Apart from Harmanpreet, Mandhana, Pritaka Rawal, Harleen Deol and Jemima Rodrigues have been included in the batting department.

For the first time in the tri -series, 3 new players have got a chance in the Indian team. Mr. Charani, a spinner who performed brilliantly for Delhi Capitals in the Women’s Premier League, has got a chance. Apart from him, fast bowler Shuchi Upadhyay has also got a chance for the first time. He created panic with 18 wickets in the Challengers Trophy. Fast bowler Kashvi Gautam has also been included in the Indian team for the first time. This fast bowler took 11 wickets for Gujarat giants in the 2025 Women’s Premier League.
