A shocking video has gone viral, showing a DeRenne Middle School teacher physically confronting an 11-year-old student in Georgia. The incident, which occurred on December 6, 2024, was triggered by the teacher’s alleged derogatory comments about the student’s mother.

The footage, which captures the teacher grabbing the student by the collar and throwing him to the ground, has sparked intense debate and outrage on social media.

The Incident

The confrontation started after the teacher allegedly made sexual comments about the student’s mother, Che’Nelle Russell, leaving the 11-year-old deeply distressed. Russell revealed that her son stood up to the teacher following the remarks. “My son, TJ, was subjected to inappropriate comments, including personal attacks on me,” Russell told the news outlet WTOC.

Reactions and Debate

While many condemn the teacher’s actions as abusive, others argue the student’s disrespect provoked the response. This disturbing incident has reignited conversations about teacher-student relationships, boundaries, and discipline in educational settings.

An Instagram user wrote, “Absolutely unacceptable. Sadly, this abuse isn’t new, the only difference is that now everyone has a smartphone to capture these events.”

However, the one’s who defended the teacher’s actions, suggested that the student may have been disrespectful. One commenter noted, “Kids have no respect. They think they can just mouth off.”

Mother Demands Justice

Russell expressed her disbelief and anger, demanding justice be served. “He needs to be placed in jail. He hurt my boy,” she said. Despite the teacher’s resignation, Russell feels that this does not absolve him of responsibility.

This incident comes amid growing concerns over teacher-student relationships and boundaries. Similar incident that happened in Pune, India where an 11-year-old student was beaten up by a school teacher in for not tucking in his shirt. The incident took place on September 27 and was captured on CCTV.

According to police, the beating allegedly left the child bleeding from his nose and ears. A case has been registered against the computer teacher, identified as Sandesh Bhosale.
