Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao has announced that the state government is planning to implement new and strict rules for tattoo parlors to ensure security. For this, the state government will also demand intervention from the Center so that appropriate guidelines can be established for the tattoo process.
Tattoo increases the risk of serious diseases
The Karnataka government is going to take strict steps in view of the diseases spreading due to tattoos. The Health Department has found that roadside tattoo parlors are running without any rules, where cleanliness is not taken care of at all. Such tattoo parlors can spread HIV, skin cancer and many other infections. Therefore, the government is planning to introduce a new law.
Researchers have found that tattoos ink contain 22 types of dangerous chemicals that can cause cancer. Tattoos are at risk of fatal diseases like skin cancer, HIV, hepatitis B, hepatitis C and Staphylococcus aureus. The chemicals present in the ink of tattoos gradually dissolve inside the body, causing serious health problems.
