India’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturer Tata Motors has inaugurated its eighth ‘registered vehicle scraping facility’ (RVSF) in Kolkata. ‘R.Y.R.E. – This center, known as ‘Recycle with Respect’, has the ability to destroy about 21,000 finished vehicles in a safe and environmentally friendly manner every year. The center was inaugurated by West Bengal Transport Minister Snehashish Chakraborty. Kolkata Mayor and Urban Development Minister Firhad Hakim, State Government officials and senior Tata Motors officials were also present at the event. The center will be operated by Tata Motors’ partner company ‘CELEDAL SISIGEG India Private Limited’. This center will scrap two -wheelers, three -wheelers, passengers and commercial vehicles of all brands. R.Y.E. This center is completely digital and its processes are paperless. It has a cell-type dissolution system for commercial vehicles and line-type dissolution system for passenger vehicles. In addition, special stations are available for safe decomposition of components such as tires, batteries, fuels, oils, fluids and gases.
The minister and the Mayor of Kolkata, who was present on the occasion, said that this initiative will not only create a large -scale employment in West Bengal, but will also reduce the burden on the environment and will strengthen the cyclical economy in the entire state and country. He said that in view of the increasing problem of solid waste and the threat of pollution in the automotive industry, such scraping facilities are the demand for time.

Rajesh Kaul, vice -president of Tata Motors trucks, said, “We are making significant changes in our campaign towards sustainable mobility and are making environmentally friendly scraping ecosystems in the country. Our goal is to make the transport sector safe, modern and green by eliminating old, polluting and dangerous vehicles.” He informed that more than 1.3 lakh vehicles are being scored in a scientific manner every year through eight scraping facilities of Tata Motors across the country. This process is completely environmentally friendly and employees working in these centers are specially trained.
This is Re.wi.re in Kolkata. The center is the third such center in Eastern India, which has been opened in major cities like Jaipur, Bhubaneswar, Surat, Chandigarh, Delhi-NCR, Pune and Guwahati. This ensures disintegration of older vehicles in a safe, efficient and environmentally responsible manner. As a complement to the Government of India’s vehicle scraping policy, these centers are raising awareness across the country and are becoming a new direction for sustainable development in the automotive industry. These centers are playing an important role in pollution control, as they enable recycling and proper disposal of metals, plastic and rubber arising from the scraping process.
