Tata.Ev is going to take major steps to strengthen the electric vehicle (EV) charging network in India. The company aims to set up 4 lakh charging points by 2027, which will exceed the EV charging infrastructure in the country. Under this, more than 30,000 public fast charger will be installed, and the Tata.EV mega charger network will also start, which will provide superfast and reliable charging facility.

Tata.ev’s charging infrastructure trip

Tata.ev has been leading to develop EV charging network since 2019. Initially, easy solutions were introduced for home charging with Tata Group companies.

  • 2023: ‘Open Collabing Framework’ began, in which the charge point operators (CPOS) and Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) were partnered.
  • Results: In just 15 months, the number of public charging points in India doubled to 18,000+.
  • Achievements so far:
    • 1.5 lakh+ private/home charger
    • 2,500+ Community Charger
    • 750 charging points at Tata dealership in 200+ cities

Tata.ev open collaboration 2.0: new mission

Now there is a plan to increase EV charging network to 4 lakh charging points in the next 2 years through Tata.ev Open Collboration 2.0.

More than 30,000 new public charging points will be installed.
These charging stations will be available for all EV brands.
The speed of adopting EV will be increased by adding public, community and private charging network.

Tata.ev Mega Charger Network: Promise Superfast Charging

  • Tata.Ev Mega Charger Network will be launched, which will provide excellent reliability and superfast charging.
  • The first phase has been partnered with Tata Power, Charjjon, Static and GON to apply 500 mega charger.
  • These charger will be installed on big cities and highways.
  • Through the Ira.ev app, these megacharis can be discovered and paid.
