Bollywood actress Tanushree Dutta came into limelight a few years ago due to the Me Too campaign. He had accused Nana Patekar of sexual harassment. Both of them worked together in the film ‘Horn OK Please’. The reason why the Me Too campaign is back in the headlines is that in the Hema Committee report, many actresses and actors in the Malayalam cine industry have made allegations of sexual harassment. During this, Tanushree Dutta recently gave an interview on this occasion. In this he revealed that he has not had any job for six years.
Six years have passed since the Me Too campaign. Has it had any positive impact on the industry? Regarding this, Tanushree said in an interview, “There was no result. On the contrary, because of the Me Too issue, I stopped getting work. In December 2018, a big producer offered me a film. He has made many superhit films, but his director was accused of MeToo. So I immediately refused.”
He further said, “Now think who is the loser. That’s me. Because I have not worked in films for a long time. Now I am just doing events and brand endorsements. I want to play the lead role in a film based film.” On women empowerment. But at the time of MeToo, I rejected that offer also. The same thing happened after a few years, I had signed some good projects, but I was deliberately targeted and I suffered huge losses.”
During the Me Too campaign, allegations were made against some artists including Nana Patekar, Sajid Khan, Alok Nath. For a few years the industry was shaken by the allegations of MeToo. But later this matter calmed down.
