Jasudben’s Tannishtha Nair, with five golds including a record breaking in the effort in the 100m backstroke in the girls under-17, made a clean sweep in the annual Greater Mumbai Amateur Aquatic Association (GMAAA) Inter-school and junior colleges Swimming championships, organised at the Borivali’s Mandpeshwar Civic Federation (MCF) swimming pool here. However, only three new records that were set during the two-day meet were in the lower age groups.

Sharing the honours with Tannishtha, were Arnav Wadekar of Don Bosco, who had his share of four golds, including one with new record in the 50m back stroke in the under-15 category and Bombay Scottish’s twin Deshwal sisters Saani and Anvi , while Saani set a new mark in 100m individual medley, beating Anvi to secnd place. However, Anvi took a sweet revenge as she claimed gold in the 50m backstroke, pipping Saani at the post.
