The Tamil Nadu government has decided to change the official sign of Rs (₹) and has planned to add Tamil letters instead. This decision has created a big political controversy, as the rupee sign itself was designed by a person from Tamil Nadu, D Uday Kumar.
The most interesting thing is that Uday Kumar’s father D Dharmalingam Dravid has been a former MLA of Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). In such a situation, questions are arising that why the DMK government changed the national mark created by the person of its own state?
