Mumbai: The Shivaji Park Police have cracked an attempted murder case within 24 hours by arresting three individuals who allegedly attacked a Taekwondo trainer near the Swatantryaveer Savarkar Smarak in Dadar West. The accused, identified as Manjot Singh Tejinder Singh (23), Imran Noor Mohammed Shaikh (28), and Manish Rajesh Vig (24), were arrested after technical investigations and CCTV analysis.

According to the police, on January 29, around 8:40 PM, near the entrance of the Swatantryaveer Savarkar Smarak on Veer Savarkar Road, Dadar West, the victim, Rajesh Muktaaji Khilari (56), was attacked by three unknown assailants over a minor dispute. In a premeditated attack, the accused used a wooden baton and sticks to assault him, leaving him injured. The victim was immediately rushed to Hinduja Hospital in Mahim for treatment.

Upon receiving information, Sub-Inspector Jadhav recorded the victim’s statement at the hospital and registered an attempt-to-murder case at Shivaji Park Police Station. Under the orders of DCP Ganesh Gawade (Zone 5) and the guidance of Senior Inspector Vilas Datir, a special police team led by Inspector Sarnobat, PSI Yogesh Rane, and their team analyzed CCTV footage and conducted a thorough technical investigation. Using confidential informants and sustained efforts, the team identified and arrested the three accused within 24 hours. The three accused were presented before the court today, which remanded them to police custody until February 3.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Manjot Singh and Imran Shaikh have prior cases related to bodily offenses and molestation. Police suspect them to be habitual offenders. The further investigation is being carried out by Inspector Dattatray Sanap under the supervision of DCP Ganesh Gawade (Zone 5).
