The first match of the five-match T20 series between India and England will be played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on Wednesday. The Indian team, which is led by Suryakumar Yadav, reached Kolkata on Saturday to participate in the series. All eyes will be on the performance of many players in this series, which includes Hardik Pandya.

Star all-rounder Hardik Pandya has an opportunity to break the big record of former cricketer Shikhar Dhawan in this series against England. Hardik Pandya has so far scored 1700 runs in 85 innings of 109 matches for India in T20 International. If he scores 60 runs in this series, he will surpass Shikhar Dhawan’s total of 1759 runs in International T20. Shikhar Dhawan last played for India in 2021 and retired from international cricket last year.

The record of scoring the most runs for India in T20 International is in the name of Rohit Sharma, who has scored 4231 runs in 159 matches. At second place is Virat Kohli, who has scored 4188 runs in 125 matches. Indian T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav has 2570 runs in his name, while KL Rahul has scored 2265 runs.

India will host five T20 Internationals against England between January 22 and February 2 in Kolkata, Chennai, Rajkot, Pune and Mumbai. After this, three ODI matches will be played in Nagpur (6 February), Cuttack (9 February) and Ahmedabad (12 February).
