In Syria, rebels led by Islamists have increased their control over the country. In such a situation, the Government of India has issued an advisory for Indians living in Syria. The Ministry of External Affairs has currently advised against traveling to Syria until the next update. Apart from this, people living in Syria have been asked to contact the Indian Embassy there as soon as possible and return to their country.
The Indian Ministry of External Affairs has posted on the social media platform X that in view of the situation in Syria, Indian citizens are advised not to travel to Syria. The post clearly states that do not go to Syria until further notice. Indian citizens living in Syria have been advised to contact the Indian Embassy.
