A swim coach was killed in an accident in Vile Parle (West) on Monday
Pranit Pawar, 31, was riding a motorcycle from Andheri to Bandra at high speed when he collided with the divider. Juhu police has registered a case against the deceased for allegedly causing death by negligence.
According to the FIR, Pawar, a resident of Khar (West), was going to work on Monday morning. While travelling at high speed on SV Road, in front of Bhawana Apartment, Vile Parle (West), he lost control of the bike and crashed into the divider. The impact threw Pawar off the vehicle. He sustained serious head injuries as he was not wearing a helmet. Bystanders took him to Cooper Hospital, where doctors declared him dead before admission. The post-mortem report stated, “Shock due craniocerebral injury allegory sustained due to road traffic accident.”
After receiving information from a bystander, the police arrived at the hospital. They recorded the statement of a witness, Ubedur Shaikh, 49, a school bus driver. The police registered a case against the deceased under Section 106(1) (death by negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita.
A police officer confirmed that the deceased was not intoxicated and was unmarried.
