Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A man driving an SUV with a red beacon was caught during the special checking drive in the Azad Nagar area late on Monday. When he could not give a satisfactory reply, the police seized the vehicle and took action against the driver.
ACP (Azad Nagar) Karandeep Singh and his team, while checking the vehicles on Musakhedi Square, stopped an SUV with red beacon. The driver Harsh from Dhar district was asked why he installed the red beacon on the vehicle, but he could not give a satisfactory reply. The police removed the red beacon on the spot and the vehicle was seized for further action against the driver.
During the drive, the police also found five drivers under influence of liquor and a case under section 185 of the Motor Vehicles Act was registered against them drivers. Their vehicles were also seized. On the instructions of the senior officers, ACP Karandeep Singh has started a special checking drive in his jurisdiction.
On Sunday night, an SUV with a hooter was stopped in the Tejaji Nagar area. ACP Singh urged people to follow the traffic rules and not drive under the influence of alcohol. He clarified that if anyone used illegal hooter or red beacon or drove a vehicle after consuming liquor, strict action would be taken against him.
