The local court sent a travel Vologue and YouTuber arrested by the Haryana Police on suspicion of spying for Pakistan on five days police remand.
According to the police, when the police recovered his laptop and mobile, “suspicious things” were recovered from it. In addition, Hisar deputy superintendent Kamaljeet said that the blogger was in “frequent contact” with a Pakistani citizen.
DSP Kamaljeet said in a video made on Saturday himself, “Based on the information we got yesterday, we arrested Harish Kumar’s daughter Jyoti under the official Secret Act and BNS 152. After recovering her mobile and laptop, we have found some suspicious things. We have taken her on five days remand and further investigation is on. She was constantly in touch with a Pakistani citizen.
In addition to the official secrecy act, Jyoti is detained under Section 152 of the Indian Justice Code (BNS), which is related to the acts that endanger the sovereignty, unity and integrity of India.
Earlier, Jyoti was questioned on charges of sharing sensitive information with Pakistan. According to the police, he had allegedly met a Pakistani officer Ahsan-ur-Rahim in Delhi and visited Pakistan twice.
Police said during the initial investigation, the woman said that she had gone to the Pakistan High Commission in Delhi to apply for a visa in 2023 and met a person named Ahsan-ur-Rahim alias Danish. He allegedly told the police that Rahim had arranged for his stay and travel, as well as arrangements with Pakistani security and intelligence agencies.
However, Jyoti’s father has said that she has gone to Pakistan several times after receiving necessary permission.
The father told ANI, “She used to make YouTube videos. She used to go to Pakistan and elsewhere.” When she was asked how many times she had gone to Pakistan, Malhotra said she did not know. He said that the police first came to his house and took his bank documents, phones, laptops and passports.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, Haryana Director General of Police (DGP) Shatrujit Kapoor spoke on the arrest of several suspected detectives in Panipat, Kaithal and Hisar districts. He credited the “increased vigilance” of the police for such arrests.
In a statement to the media, Kapoor emphasized that the suspected detectives were active for some time, but their activities were exposed due to intensive monitoring and better intelligence-sharing mechanisms.
Kapoor said, “The situation created after the major incident in Operation Sindoor and Pahalgam was exposed to such people. It is not that they were not active earlier; they were working earlier too, but now these people are caught. It is also a result of increased vigilance and increased monitoring is reaching our intelligence agencies better.”
He further said that such activities have increased due to a war -like atmosphere. However, state police and intelligence agencies have responded immediately.
