Mumbai Indians star Suryakumar Yadav left behind the likes of Virat Kohli and Suresh Raina to become the fastest Indian to 4000 runs in IPL in terms of ball faced. The IPL 2025 clash between the Mumbai Indians and Lucknow Super Giants on Sunday saw the right-handed batter cross 4000 runs in the tournament only in 2714 balls, with only AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle ahead.

Gayle and De Villiers, who represented the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) for multiple seasons, both completed the landmark in 2658 deliveries. Suryakumar, who has been the nucleus behind Mumbai Indians’ dominance over the years, completed the landmark only in 2714 deliveries with a boundary in the 14th over of the innings.

The veteran right-handed batter played some outstanding shots amid his 28-ball 54 that consisted of four boundaries and as many sixes. In the process, he is now the Orange Cap holder, going past B Sai Sudharsan’s run-tally.
