Chief Executive Officer Ashima Mittal recently visited the Zilla Parishad School in Surgana taluka to inspect its progress. During the visit, it was observed that the school has seen a significant increase in student enrollment due to its emphasis on quality education.
In the academic year 2012-13, the school had a total of 69 students, whereas this year, the number has risen to 212. Notably, 163 students from outside the village have enrolled, and 105 children of government employees are currently studying at the school. Additionally, parents of students from English-medium schools are now choosing Suryagad School for their children’s education.
During the visit, CEO Ashima Mittal interacted with the students, engaging them in mathematical exercises such as division problems. She also inquired about their participation in the Spelling Bee competition and encouraged more students to prepare for it. Suryagad Zilla Parishad School, located 2 km from Surgana, has become a preferred choice for students from Surgana and nearby villages.
The school implements various educational initiatives, including a dedicated reading section, daily learning of five English words from the curriculum, and general knowledge sessions on the birth anniversaries of great personalities. Over the past nine years, the school has achieved remarkable academic success, with 28 students being selected for Jawahar Navodaya and 140 students securing admission to Eklavya School, which operates under the Tribal Development Project.
