Lucknow, 18 November (H.C.). State Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi on Monday met Rajat Kumar Mishra, the fertilizer in the Ministry of Fertilizer and Chemicals in New Delhi on Monday and got information about the supply and availability of fertilizer and the movement of the rack by the Government of India. Along with informing about the status of fertilizer, he urged to send fertilizer in the state on time on priority basis.

In view of sowing of rabi crops, there has been an increase in the demand of phosphate fertilizers among farmers at present. Sowing of wheat has also been rapid in the western districts of the state. Along with this, sowing of pulses and oilseed crops by farmers has also been almost completed. Sowing of potato and sugarcane crops is also going to be completed soon. Sowing of wheat, the main crop of Rabi season, has also started simultaneously in the entire state. Currently, about 16000 m ton DAP and 11000 m ton NPK are being purchased by farmers. In view of the sowing of wheat simultaneously across the state, at least 12 rack phosphate fertilizers were asked to supply daily in the remaining days of November 2024.

During the meeting, keeping in view the consumption in the month of October and November last year, it was discussed to ensure the availability of DAP in the same amount this year. Farmers had meaningful talks regarding ensuring supply of DAP fertilizer as per their needs. The Secretary, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilizers, Government of India assured the Agriculture Minister that the supply of phosphate fertilizers to the state would be ensured and the phosphate fertilizer rack to be dispatched for the state will also be sent to maximum state from the western port.

On this occasion, the cooperative sector is given priority in view of purchasing fertilizers of farmers, but information was also given about the lack of fertilizers by the farmers to reach the fertilizer from the cooperative sector simultaneously on the basis of priority. And to increase the allocation of cooperatives and to include the districts of Prayagraj and Ayodhya divisions of Purvanchal in fertilizer supply from the eastern port. During this, Anita Mashram, Additional Secretary Fertilizer, Secretary Agriculture, Anurag Yadav from Uttar Pradesh and Director Officers Harvinder Singh were also present.
