Supreme Court It was clarified on Friday that Yashwant Verma, senior judge of the Delhi High Court, has not been transferred yet, but is currently being considered. Along with this, the court said that this proposal is not related to any incident in their house. Justice Verma is at the center of the dispute, as there were recent reports that a huge amount of cash was received from his government residence. There were rumors that he was transferred to the Allahabad High Court. But the Supreme Court said in its statement that the proposal for transfer of judges has not yet been completely investigated and is different from the alleged cash incident.

Discussion on proposal:
The Supreme Court said that misinformation and rumors are being spread about the incident of Justice Verma’s house. The statement of the Supreme Court said that the proposal to transfer the Judge Verma, who is second in seniority in the Delhi High Court and is also a member of the collegium, is still under discussion on the proposal to transfer the original High Court, ie Allahabad High Court. There his seniority will be in ninth place. This transfer proposal is completely different from the cash dispute investigation initiated by the Supreme Court.

Investigation of cash dispute
In connection with the investigation of the incident of alleged cash recovery from Justice Verma’s house, the Supreme Court said that Chief Justice of Delhi High Court DK Upadhyay has already started an internal investigation to get evidence and information. According to the Supreme Court, the Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court started an investigation before the collegium meeting to be held on 20 March 2025. After handing over the investigation, the Supreme Court will review the report and take necessary action.

On the other hand, Delhi Fire Service chief Atul Garg made it clear on Friday that he did not make any statement that no cash was received during the fire campaign at Justice Yashwant Verma’s house. , It is noteworthy here that his explanation came at a time when he was seen earlier in a PTI report saying that fire personnel did not get any cash while extinguishing the fire.

From this
The first report quoted Garg as saying that soon after extinguishing the fire, we informed the police about the incident. After this, the fire department team left from there. While extinguishing the fire, our firefighters did not find any secret place. However, Garg later denied this statement and said that the statement being run by PTI is not mine.
