The petition has demanded that pornographic materials on social media and OTT platforms are making a serious impact on people, including children and minors.
Guidelines should be issued to prevent this and the National Material Control Authority should be established.
The petition will hear the Supreme Court Justice BR Gavai and Justice Augustine George. The petitioner has claimed that adult content is made available on social media without any filters and there is no such filter on OTT. It is having a serious impact on the minds of the youth of the country and the minors entering adolescence. Therefore, the government should be ordered to take appropriate action in this regard. If such adult material is not stopped, it can have a serious impact on the society.
