New Delhi, 07 July (Hindustan Times). Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia has got a big relief from the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court has refused to hear the petition challenging Jyotiraditya Scindia’s Rajya Sabha election.
Petitioner Congress leader Govind Singh had said that an FIR was lodged against Scindia at Bhopal’s Shyamala Hills police station in 2018 but he did not disclose it while filing his nomination for the election. Which is a clear violation of the rules. The petition demanded that Scindia’s Rajya Sabha election should be declared void.
Scindia left the Congress and joined the BJP in 2020, after which 22 of his supporting ministers and MLAs also left the Congress and joined the BJP. Because of this the Kamal Nath government had fallen. Jyotiraditya Scindia was declared the Rajya Sabha candidate from Madhya Pradesh just days after joining the BJP.
