Astronaut Sunita Williams and Buch Wilmore have recently returned from the International Space Station after 9 months. These astronauts went to the space station for only 8 days, but for some reason they had to stay in space for the whole 9 months. After this, now President Trump said that he was not aware that astronauts did not get overtime salary for increased days in space. This is why Trump said that he would pay astronauts from his pocket.

President Donald Trump said on Friday that he was not aware that NASA’s astronaut Sunita Williams and Buch Wilmore had not received any overtime salary for their sudden enhanced stay at the International Space Station (ISS).

When Trump talked about giving money

During a press conference at the White House, Peter Dusi of Fox News told Donald Trump that astronauts did not receive overtime salary for their long stay at the space station, while they were to pay $ 5 per day – they should have been paid $ 1,430 (Indian rupees 1 lakh 22 thousand 980) for a total of 286 days.

After getting this information, President Trump said that no one informed him about it. If necessary, I will pay their salary from my pocket. This is not a big deal, given what they have endured.

Thanks to Allen Musk.

Trump then thanked SpaceX’s Elon Musk for bringing astronaut Sunita Williams, Buch Wilmore, Nick Heg and Roscosomos astronaut Alexander Gorbunov back to Earth. All these astronauts returned to Earth from SpaceX’s Dragon spacecraft on Wednesday.

Sunita Williams and Wilmore went on an 8 -day mission to test the new Starlineer capsule of Boeing, but the mission was extended to 9 months due to technical fault. The spacecraft returned without passengers in September last year.
