The path of astronaut Sunita Williams and Buch Wilmor returning to earth at the International Space Station (ISS) for the past nine months is now clear. NASA and Elon Musk’s company SpaceX has launched the crew-10 mission for their safe return.
How will the mission be?
- Dragon Spacecraft was dispatched for ISS via Falcon 9 rocket from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center.
- The launch took place at 7.3 pm (local time) on Friday evening.
- On 16 March, Sunita Williams and Buch Wilmore are considered to be returned to the land.

How to get caught in ISS?
In June 2023, Sunita Williams and Buch reached ISS from Wilmor Boeing Starlineer Spacecraft. His mission was fixed for a few months, but the spacecraft caused a technical fault.
- For this reason Boeing Starlineer was called back empty.
- Since then, both have been staying at ISS and nine months have passed.
- In September 2023, other astronauts were brought back to SpaceX’s crew-9 mission, but Sunita and Buch were not included.
Who included in Crew-10 mission?
This time the spacecraft sent by NASA for ISS is already riding some new astronauts:
- Annie McClane (NASA)
- Nicole Aers (NASA)
- Takuya Onishi (Japan’s Space Agency Jaxa)
- Kiril Peskov (Russian Space Agency ROSCOSMOS)
According to NASA officials, this spacecraft will arrive on ISS on March 15 and then a few days later Sunita Williams and Buch Willmore will return. However, the fixed date is not yet clear.

SpaceX owner Elon Musk blamed the Biden administration on the return of Sunita Williams and Buch Wilmor.
- Musk said that Joe Biden did not make any effort for his return soon.
- However, he did not present any evidence in support of his statement.

Sunita Williams reply on the discussion of removing ISS
Recently, Alan Musk said that the time has come to remove ISS.
On this, Sunita Williams replied without naming anyone:
“ISS is currently in excellent position and is very important for scientific research. This is a wonderful place, and the time to close it is yet to come. “
