Television actor Karan Wahi, who has starred in several shows including Dill Mill Gayye, Shraddha, Kuch Toh Log Kahenge, and Baat Hamari Pakki Hai, among others, recently revealed that he has faced repercussions for being ‘too good-looking’ compared to the lead actor, which has led to him losing several projects. However, he has never been told this to his face and has always come to know through others.

Appearing on Bharti Singh’s podcast, Karan said that he does not understand the thought behind it, as even if he is a lead in some show, he would also add value to it. “Agar mein Hrithik Roshan ke saat kaam kar raha hu, toh unka ek stardom hai, but aise thodi hai ki unke wajese badhe dikhne lagenge. Sundarta ke chakkar mein bohot problem hai. Kahi jagah par kaam nai milte, isilye, kyuki woh kehte ‘aap yeh lagte nai ho, aap yeh lag hi nai sakte ho.’ Humko woh mauka nai milta, woh time frame,” he added.

Further, Karan revealed that he has two projects in the pipeline, one of which revolves around the story of an ugly-looking boy. The film’s director, who is his friend, mentioned that he was struggling to find a suitable actor for the role. In response, Karan suggested that he should cast him instead of looking for someone else.

He added, “Usne kaha, ‘Pagal hai kya? Ugly-looking boy?’ Toh main dentist ke paas gaya, dentures banwaye, shave ki, humne shoot kiya, aur phir OTT platform ko dikhaya. Platform ko toh pata hi nahi chala ki yeh main hoon!”

Karan shared that when he appeared on Comedy Nights Bachao, he earned a lot of money thanks to Bharti, as she would often joke about his handsomeness on the show.

“Mujhe is baat pe hansi aati hai ki log meri sundarta ki bhi beizzati kar dete hain. Kehte hain, ‘Yeh itna sundar hai ki Jacqueline Fernandez ka role bhi kha jaaye!’ Logically dekha jaye toh haan, main toh waise bhi bada sundar hoon!,” shared Wahi.
