Shimla, 16 November (HS). Many important decisions have been taken in the state cabinet meeting held here on Saturday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu. In the meeting, approval was given to convert three Municipal Councils into Municipal Corporations and two Municipal Panchayats into Municipal Councils. Approval was also given to create six new Nagar Panchayats in the state. It was also decided in the meeting to include the additional area under the purview of various local bodies. Hamirpur, Una and
Baddi will become the new municipal corporation. With this, the number of municipal corporations in the state will now increase to seven. At present there are Shimsha, Mandi, Sailan and Dharamshala Municipal Corporations in the state.
The Cabinet approved increasing the honorarium of multi-task workers posted in the Public Works Department from Rs 4,500 to Rs 5,000. The Cabinet also gave in-principle approval to bring all senior citizens above 70 years of age under the ambit of Ayushman Bharat Scheme. It was decided in the meeting that additional top-up cover of up to Rs 5 lakh will be provided to senior citizens above 70 years of age already registered under this scheme.
In the meeting, it was decided to provide financial assistance of Rs 3 lakh for construction of houses to widows, single women, abandoned and disabled women with annual income less than Rs 2.50 lakh, registered under Himachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
In the Cabinet meeting, approval was given to provide benefits of Mukhyamantri Sukhashraya Yojana to abandoned children till the age of 27 years. The Cabinet approved the implementation of Rajiv Gandhi Self-Employment Start-up Scheme-2023. Under this, it will be ensured to provide a minimum fare of Rs 50 thousand to e-taxi owners affiliated with various government departments.
In the meeting, it was also decided to create and fill 30 posts of senior resident doctors and 326 posts of supporting staff in Dr. Radhakrishnan Government Medical College, Hamirpur. Approval was also given to open a new police post at Dr. Radhakrishnan Government Medical College, Hamirpur and creation and filling of seven posts of different categories. In the meeting, approval was given to fill 28 posts of various categories in the Fisheries Department.
The Cabinet approved filling of 25 posts of Assistant State Tax and Excise Officers in the State Tax and Excise Department. In the meeting, it was decided to fill 10 posts of different categories in the Commission for the smooth functioning of Himachal Pradesh State Selection Commission, Hamirpur.
The Cabinet decided to create and fill six posts of different categories in the recently opened Block Medical Office, Dehra in Kangra district. The Cabinet decided to create and fill four posts of different categories for the recently upgraded Community Health Center, Gumma in Shimla district.
In the meeting, it was decided to grant No Objection Certificate (NOC) to Himcaps Nursing College, Badhera at Haroli in Una district for increasing the seats of GNM course by 20 from 40 to 60.
The Cabinet gave its approval to start M.Tech in Electrical Engineering (Electric Vehicle Technology) in Government Hydro Engineering College, Bandla, Bilaspur and to create and fill three posts for it.
The Cabinet decided to start new diploma courses in Computer Engineering and Internet of Things in Government Multi Technical College, Hamirpur.
In the meeting, it was decided to issue letter of intent and grant approval in favor of M/s Himachal Pradesh Horticultural Products Marketing and Processing Corporation for setting up a winery at Parala in Shimla district. With this decision, apple growers of the area will get remunerative prices and will ensure employment to the local people.
