Suicide Attack On Bannu Cantonment In Northwest Pakistan,12 Dead; Dramatic Visuals Surface (Screengrab) | X
Peshawar: At least 12 people lost their lives as two explosive-laden vehicles rammed into the boundary wall of the main cantonment in Bannu in northwest Pakistan on Tuesday. Meanwhile, 30 people are also injured in the suicide attack. The Pakistani army also neutralised six terrorists. The suicide bombers hit the wall of Bannu Cantonment, about 200 km southwest of Peshawar, in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. The incident was captured on camera and the video is going viral on social media.
Hafiz Gul Bahadur-affiliated Jaish Al Fursan claimed responsibility for the attack in Bannu. The group is one of the several factions of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan. In the visuals, it could be seen that the entire area was engulfed by a thick envelope of smoke after the explosion. The blast was repeatedly heard from almost a 10 km radius.

Dr Numan, spokesperson of the DHQ Hospital at Bannu said 12 civilians were killed in Bannu cantonment suicide blast and 30 were injured and added that the dead also included four children and two women, reported PTI.
A dozen casualties were reported from the nearby civil buildings and the debris of a mosque adjacent to Bannu cantonment’s boundary, reported the news agency citing sources. All the injured have been shifted to the hospital.
After the explosion, terrorists tried to enter the cantonment by climbing the wall. However, at least six of them were neutralised while the remaining have been surrounded, security sources confirmed. The main routes leading to the cantonment were sealed.
Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur condemned the Bannu explosion and sought a report on the incident.
