His wife, famous writer and Rajya Sabha MP Sudha Murthy has now expressed his opinion about the debate of ’70 House Kama’ started by Infosys co-founder Narayan Murthy. Sudha Murthy believes that when a person is obsessed with his work, time does not become a hindrance.
Sudha Murthy’s statement: nothing possible without passion
In an interview given to NDTV, Sudha Murthy said:
“When people are obsessed with their work, there is no limit to time.”
“My husband (Narayan Murthy) used to work more than 70 hours a week in the early days.”
“If he had not worked hard, it was not possible to bring Infosys to such a height.”
He admitted that no major dream could be fulfilled without passion and hard work.
‘Companies like Infosys do not make magic’
Sudha Murthy said that hard work, right time and luck contributed to making Infosys a big brand.
She said that she balanced family life in a different way due to her husband’s dedication to the work of her husband.
He also admitted that not only the IT sector, but also doctors, journalists and other professionals have to work for a long time.
He said, “If someone is obsessed with his work, then his family should also support it.”
‘God has given 24 hours to everyone’
Sudha Murthy said:
“God has given 24 hours to every human being, whether it is rich or poor, beautiful or simple. Now it depends on you how you use this time.”
“I used to write, but I started writing and writing to keep myself more busy.”
He also said that if a person does his work with passion, then it is necessary to give time.
Why was there an uproar over Narayan Murthy’s statement of ’70 hours work’?
During a podcast in 2023, Narayan Murthy said that India’s work productivity is the lowest in the world.
He gave the example of the hard work of Germany and Japan during World War II and suggested that the youth should consider working 70 hours a week.
After this statement, there was a lot of debate on social media.
Now Sudha Murthy clarified this and said that when there is passion, there is no limit of time.
