Mumbai: Veteran Bollywood filmmaker Subhash Ghai recently sold two luxury apartments in Jogeshwari’s Splendor Complex Co-op Housing Society Ltd for a total of Rs 11.61 crore. Both transactions were registered in March 2025, according to media reports.
The properties were registered under the legal name Mukta Tele Arts Private, Ghai’s company. Reportedly, each apartment was sold for Rs 5.80 crore, featuring a carpet area of 889 sq ft and a built-up area of 1,067 sq ft.
The stamp duty for both transactions was Rs 34.83 lakh, with an additional registration fee of Rs 30,000 per apartment.
Jogeshwari, situated in Mumbai’s western suburbs, is a well-connected locality offering seamless access to the city’s key commercial and entertainment hubs.
Just a month before these sales, in February 2025, Ghai and his wife, producer Mukta Ghai, made headlines for acquiring a lavish 4BHK apartment in Bandra’s upscale 81 Aureate residential tower. The apartment, developed by MJ Shah Group, was purchased for Rs 24 crore and spans a carpet area of 4,364 sq ft with a built-up area of 5,239 sq ft. The transaction also included three car parking spaces.
The couple had paid a hefty stamp duty of Rs 1.44 crore and a registration fee of Rs 30,000 for the Bandra property. Notably, the average monthly rent for similar apartments in 81 Aureate is reported to be around Rs 8.5 lakh.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Ghai last produced and wrote the comedy-drama streaming movie ’36 Farmhouse’ which was released in 2022.
