The Chinese Government Scholarship (Category B) is open to international students for the 2025 academic year at the Southwestern University of Finance and Economics (SWUFE) in China. Eligibility Criteria

  • Master’s degree applicants: Hold a bachelor’s degree (or graduate by August 2025)

  • Candidate should be under 35 years old for master’s program

  • Under 40 years old for doctoral program

  • Chinese-taught programs: HSK Level 5 (score 180+) for direct entry, or HSK Level 4 (score 180+) with a one-year preparatory Chinese course.

  • English-taught programs: Native English speakers or those with a 2-year degree taught in English are exempt. Non-native speakers: IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 80+.

  • ID photo (recent, within 6 months)

  • Notarised degree certificates and transcripts

  • Two recommendation letters (from professors/associate professors)

  • Study plan (1,000+ words)

  • Language certificates (HSK/IELTS/TOEFL)

  • Passport (valid until March 2026)

  • Physical Examination Form for Foreigners

  • Non-Criminal Record Certificate

  • Additional certificates/awards (optional)

Note: All documents must be in Chinese or English. If in another language, provide notarised translations.
