Bollywood singer Sonu Nigam’s LIVE concert at Delhi Technological University’s (DTU) Engifest 2025 turned chaotic after students pelted stones at him. Sonu performed at the University on March 23 (Sunday). However, he was forced to stop his performance midway and request the unruly crowd to behave.
According to media reports, over one lakh students arrived to attend the concert.
Soon after stones and plastic bottles were thrown at Sonu, the singer addressed the crowd, saying, “Main aapke liye aaya hoon yahan pe so that we can all have a good time. I’m not asking you to not enjoy, but please aisa na kariye (I have come here for you so that we can all have a good time. I’m not asking you to not enjoy, but please don’t do this).”
A report in Hindustan Times stated that worried for his team members, the singers said that they might get injured if people continue to throw things on stage.
Despite the interruption, the singer continued his performance once the situation was under control.

When Sonu Nigam lost his cool during Kolkata show
In February 2025, Sonu captivated the audience with his performance at a concert in Kolkata. However, he lost his cool during the show as the crowd repeatedly interrupted his performance by standing up instead of sitting in the chairs provided. Frustrated by the interruptions, Sonu stated that if the crowd wished to stand, they should go “stand” for elections.
The video was shared on social media by a fan, who was present at the concert. In it, Sonu was heard saying, “Agar tum ko khada hona hi hain, election mein khade ho jaao yaar! Please bithao. Jaldi karo… itna time jaa raha hain mera maalum hain? Apka cut off time aa jayega phir, baithao! Jaldi baitho! Baitho! Bahar niklo! Make this space empty.”
