New Delhi: Students of CBSE who do not go to school regularly, will not be allowed to appear in class 12 board examination.

Officials further said that it is the responsibility of students and parents to enroll in Dummi schools.

As part of the action initiated by the Central Board of Secondary Education against Dummy schools, CBSE is considering amending relevant examination laws to prevent dummy students from appearing in board examinations.

Students of dummy schools will not be allowed to appear in the board examination and they will have to take the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS).

A senior board official told reporters that students who will not appear in the school during the board investigation will not be allowed to take the board examination. The responsibility of being absent from regular school is also the responsibility of the student and his parents.

Officials said that action will also be taken against schools encouraging fake students under the board’s recognition and examination rules.

The issue was discussed in the recent meeting of CBSE Governing Body. In this meeting, it has been recommended to implement this new rule from academic year 2025-26.
