Meerut: A violent clash erupted between two factions of the same community after Eid prayers in Uttar Pradesh’s Meerut on Monday. According to reports, Stone pelting and firing were also reported. The incident took place in Meerut’s Siwal. The incident was caught on camera and the video also surfaced online.

The clash reportedly broke after a dispute between children. However, the exact reason is yet to be ascertained. The people were injured in the incident. After receiving the information, the police reached the spot. The injured were taken to a nearby hospital.

A heavy police deployment was made in the area to avoid any untoward incident. The video of the incident is done around social media. In the video. In the video, it could be seen that a few men were beating two men. Another group of men came from behind with sticks to rescue their men. One of the persons was bleeding profusely.

Earlier in the day, protests were held in Meerut after Eid prayers as people were stopped from offering Namaz on roads. Protesters also waved posters stating that “only Muslims do not offer namaz on the streets”.

The poster mentions that even Hindus celebrate their festivals, including Holi, Shivratri, Diwali, Ganesh Chaturthi and Ramnavmi on the streets. The poster also reads Kanwadias come out the road for pilgrimage.

Eid Al-Fitr is a special occasion for Muslims worldwide, marking the end of the holy month of Ramzan.
