Today, on the first trading day of the year, there was a rise in Sensex-Nifty after opening in the green zone. While Sensex rose by more than 592 points, Nifty also rose by more than 175 points.

 

The beginning of the year 2025 was great for the Indian stock market. On the first day on January 1, Sensex-Nifty closed in the green with a rise, then the rise continued on Thursday also. On the previous trading day, Bombay Stock Exchange Sensex (BSE Sensex) had closed with a gain of 368 points, whereas today it is trading with a gain of 350 points. Nifty of National Stock Exchange (NSE Nifty) also looks green. Amid the boom in the market, a rise was seen in shares ranging from Bajaj Finance to Railtel.

Sensex rose more than 592 points

Trading in the stock market started in the green zone on Thursday. The Sensex opened at 78,657.52 compared to its previous close of 78,507.41 and was seen trading at 78,893.18 after gaining more than 350 points in a short time. Like Sensex, Nifty also saw a rise. The NSE index jumped from its previous close of 23,742.90 to start trading at 23,783 and within minutes gained momentum to reach 23,868, up 110 points.

Even yesterday the stock market was seen in the green.

Even on the last trading day, Wednesday, the pace of the stock market suddenly increased after the initial decline and by the time the market closed, Sensex-Nifty closed with strong gains. After opening at 78,265.07, BSE Sensex ended 368.40 points higher at 78,507.41. At the same time, like Sensex, NSE Nifty also closed at 23,742.90, up 98.10 points after opening at 23,637.65.

These 10 stocks had the biggest gains

During early trade on Thursday, the last trading day of the week, shares of Bajaj Finance were among the top escapees and jumped nearly 3 per cent to Rs. Seen trading at 7,143.15. After this, shares of large cap Bajaj Finserv (2.50%), shares of Infi (1.90%), shares of Kota Bank (1.60%) were trading with gains.

In the midcap category, shares of RailTel (6.43%), shares of Policy Bazaar (2.90%), shares of IGL (2.38%) were traded, while among smallcap companies, shares of Ricoh Auto were the fastest gainers, rising 13.72%. Along with this, shares of DYCL also rose by about 7%.
