News India Live, Digital Desk: Today, Indian stock markets will be closed on the occasion of Maharashtra Day on 1 May 2025. Maharashtra’s Foundation Day, which reflects the formation of the state in 1960, will not have any business in both Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) and National Stock Exchange (NSE). Both these Mumbai -based major exchange equity, derivatives and all other segments are closed for business activities today.
However, the morning session of the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX) (from 9 am to 5 pm) will remain closed, the evening business will continue to run from 5 pm to 11:55 pm.

Banks holiday on 1 May:
According to the reserve bank of India (RBI) holiday list, banks of cities like Mumbai, Belapur, Nagpur including Bangalore, Chennai, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Imphal, Kochi, Kolkata, Panaji, Patna, Thiruvananthapuram will also remain closed today due to Maharashtra Day.
