But selling continues in midcap and smallcap. There was a decline of more than one and a half percent in both the indices. IT shares are giving some support to the market today.
Strength in IT shares

HDFC Bank declared its results on Wednesday. The bank’s profit in the third quarter increased by 2% to Rs. 16,736 crores.
