State Will Contribute To Ahilyabai Memorial, Seek Centre’s Help Too: CM Mohan Yadav | FP Image

Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The state governments will contribute to the construction of the Devi Ahilya Memorial, and would also seek the Centre’s help, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has said. 

Yadav gave this assurance while interacting with the office-bearers of the Devi Ahilya Memorial Trust here on Tuesday at the Rajwada on the sidelines of the Cabinet meeting.

The Cabinet meeting was held here amid Devi Ahilyabai’s 300th birth anniversary celebrations. A delegation of the memorial trustees met the CM under the leadership of ex-Lok Sabha Speaker and trust president Sumitra Mahajan. 

The CM saw a presentation of the under-construction memorial. He also felicitated industrialist and trustee Vinod Agarwal for announcing the first contribution of ₹5 crore. He added that there was no dearth of people willing to cooperate for such good work in the city.

Informed about the memorial project, the CM assured cooperation from the state government and said they would try seeking the Centre’s help for the remaining amount. Industrialist Vinod Agarwal said the city was flourishing with the blessings of Devi Ahilyabai. “We remember Mother Ahilya before every good work,” he said.

Earlier, Trust president Sumitra Mahajan gave detailed information about the entire project. She said that work on the memorial, rich with rare information on the personality and work of Devi Ahilybai, had started. She said the estimated project cost was ₹100 cr, and in the first phase, ₹40 crore worth of work would be completed. 

MP Shankar Lalwani, Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargav, trustee Purushottamdas Pasari, Milind Mahajan, Sudhir Dedge, Himanshu Dudhvarkad, and Shreya Bhargav, along with Divisional Commissioner Deepak Singh and Collector Asheesh Singh, were also present at the meeting.
