Lucknow, 25 September (H.C.). Many countries and states are taking concrete steps at their respective levels to deal with the increasing effects of climate change and future dangers. The Uttar Pradesh government has launched a new initiative, which will not only make the students of Kasturba Gandhi Residential Girls School (KGBV) aware of climate change but will also motivate the suggested measures to include them in their behavior.
This special program, which runs from 28 September to 15 February 2025, is aimed at making the students aware of the challenges related to climate change and its solution. In this program, a direct dialogue between experts and girl students will be established, so that girls not only understand this problem, but can also bring positive changes in their daily lives to solve it.
Under this initiative, a range of awareness sessions will be organized with Meena Manch and KGBV students and accessories in collaboration with UNICEF, which will be combined with Meena Manch activities. These sessions will be organized online. One of the experts of the program, Dr. Anita Bhatnagar Jain (retired IAS) will communicate directly with the girls during these sessions.
Various tasks will be given to the students during the session, which will be compiled through Google Form. The objective of this initiative is to enhance awareness among girls as well as make them practically capable so that they can face climate change and health issues and empower their life skills.
The students will be motivated to assimilate measures to avoid climate change through various activities. This initiative is an important part of the efforts to spread awareness about environmental protection in the coming generations and develop a sense of sustainable development in their behavior.
This step of the Yogi government can prove to be helpful in spreading awareness not only among the students but also among the broad sections of the society, which will help reduce the effects of climate change.
