Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): The detailed project report (DPR) of the proposed Indore-Ujjain metro is expected to be completed by month end or January. Thereafter, Madhya Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation will assess the DPR and if found viable will seek funds from State and Centre for the proposed project. The state government and Central government will each contribute 20% of the total project cost and the rest of the amount will be arranged from the funding agency.
“After completion of the Indore-Ujjain Metro feasibility report, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is preparing the Detail Project Report (DPR). Once we get the report, our technical committees will do the assessment and if all things are okay then we will demand money for the proposed Indore-Ujjain Metro project from State and Centre,” said a senior officer of Madhya Pradesh Rail Metro Corporation.
The DPR will look into the expected number of passengers on the identified route, the number of four-wheelers plying on the route and locations where the Metro stations and depot will be constructed, said an official. The DPR will also estimate the construction cost of the project.
